— Mrs. Ellen Solomon,


56, of Kerrville, passed away Friday, March 16, 2001, at her residence.
Mrs. Solomon, a resident of Kerrville for 10 years and a prior resident
of Las Vegas, was born on Nov. 6, 1944, in Dry Grove, Ill. to Earl Bowman
and Lena Rachel Baker Bowman.


Ellen married George A. Solomon on April 6, 1962, in Bloomington, Ill.
He survives. She was a housewife and a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church.


Other survivors include her mother, Lena R. Bowman of Kerrville; daughter,
Traci M. Solomon of Center Point; two sons, George Earl Solomon of Farmington,
Utah and James A. Solomon of Colorado Springs, Co; three sisters, Florence
Richey of Phoenix, Ada Stodgel of Elmwood, Ill. and Kathy Stapleton of
Anderson, Ind.; and two grandchildren, Christopher Burke and Kimberly Burke.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Rodger Bowman of Phoenix.


A rosary service will take place Sunday, March 18 at 7 p.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapels
with Deacon Dennis Link.


Mass will be held Monday, March 19, at 10 a.m. at Notre Dame Catholic Church with Rev.
Michael J. Boulette, Celebrant.


Graveside services will be held Thursday, March 22 at 2 p.m. at Frankeberger Cemetery
located in Ellsworth, Ill.


Memorials may be made to the St. Vincent De Paul Society,
959 Main St., Kerrville, Texas 78028.


Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville.
 

 

Ellen was someone I considered my 2nd mother. She and my mother were best of friends from when I was 2 years old.
