History:
Riley was born the only child to his parents. They were both older at the time and never really worried about having kids, that is till they did get older and finally wanted children. They tried for a few years to have children, and then Riley came into the world.

He was a hard labor on his mother, she almost died, so they warned her not to have any more children. She was already 45 at the time so they figured it was best anyway. They had their one child and that was enough for them.

Riley was loved a lot and well cared for. He was given everything he wanted as a child, well only those items his parents deemed were good for him. So he was a happy child.

He went to school and was well liked and popular, but he'd always been a quiet child, never really getting into trouble. He drank a bit in school, but that was basically all he did to get into trouble. He dated, but he was one of those boys that had to really like the girl for anything to happen.

Because of that, he feel in love with a fellow classmate named of Jamie. They dated all threw high school and got married upon graduation. Jamie knew what she wanted to do, she wanted to be a botanist so college was where she needed to go. Riley on the other hand had no idea what he wanted to do. So one night after going out with some friends, he ended up signing up for the Air Force.
He told Jamie and before he shipped out, they decided to get married. It was a simple wedding, just their parents and that's it. They had 2 weeks for their honeymoon before Riley was shipped out.

In the military, they found he had an aptitude for taking things apart and putting them back together. He could put things together in ways others never thought of doing and making it work better. He was highly sought after by the military and given a great position. In that, Jamie came to live with him in Florida.

They had a happy few years together, but like life, that changed one night when they had gone out for a night on the town. On the way back, a drunk driver hit their car, putting Riley in the hospital for months. He was in a coma for a bit, and when he woke, he found out his wife was dead.

He went threw several long months of physical therapy and during that time, he quit the Air Force. After he was out of the hospital, he packed up from Florida and moved to New Mexico, where he could be alone. He stayed there a few years, working enough to keep himself alive. He was having an ok time there, when suddenly the military showed up on his doorstep again.

They wanted him for the Mars project. They wanted him to be the Chief Engineer, keeping the place up and running. At first he said no, but after several attempts, he finally had enough and said yes. He was one of the ones on the first shipment to Mars. He's been on the red planet now for a year, waiting for the others to finally show.
